Really I'm still inside it. I am not in the jungle. My area has a mall in it. So very much inside the cap and its civilization. But a member told me that we're technically outside. So here I am afuera la capital! Chilero si?
Anyway this week was full of very interesting experiences. And I don't know if it's just because I'm new, or if everyday from now on it's going to be crazy.
Anyway let us begin! Woo! We were teaching an investigator and as she was nodding her head in agreement to something, BAM! 3 of her front teeth fall out! It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen happen on my mission and it was so hard not to laugh.
Anyway another story. I was sitting on a flight of stairs waiting for a memeber to come with us contacting and all that. And suddenly a freaking bird poops on my arm an my shoe. And instead of helping me my comp and the member we were waiting for start to laugh and take pictures. It was a little like, "Seriously?"But it was also really funny and I probably would've done the same if it had happened to one of them. So I'll forgive them.
Those were the two main crazy experiences of the week. But other experiences include meeting a crap ton of people and trying to remember names, walking a ton more (the area is massive and even more hills), oh and I got super burnt. So look forward to more tan pics of me.
Anyway in general I really like the area. I don't know how I like the eldersr yet. The one p-day and consejo de distrito I had gave me the impression that they're a bunch of weirdos. But it's only been one week so we'll see. They're nice. Just weird. The ward is really friendly and are very excited and willing to help us with practically everything and anything we need. They also give us food sometimes so that really helps me like people. I haven't made any friends friends yet but I have my potentials and 5 more weeks to see how it goes. But in general I really like my new area. I like the people, the area is beautiful and green and there's like weird cool cliff valleys, and I think it's where God wants me to be right now.
Anyway something a little more spiritual for you people. This week in my studies and in my personal thinking I've been learning that the Lord preps us for what we'll be called to do in the future. I was reading about the prophet Russel M. Nelson and how his entire life he's been given experiences to prep him to be a prophet. So in my studies I got another confirmation that he's the prophet of today. But besides that I also got the revelation that this concept applies to us. God has a plan prepped for every single one of us. And everyday we're givin the experiences to prep us for what we will be called to do. So if something bad happens know it's to prep us. If something amazing happens it's to prep us. Everything that happens is to prepp us for something greater. I feel like a living testimony of that. Didn't get into college, went to Spain, Mom got cancer, decided to go on a mission, lived in Utah for a short time, and here I am on the mission! And I feel like the mission is just another thing that's prepping me for something even greater. What that'll be? I have no idea. But I'm sure I'll find out after the mission. Anyway that's the spiritualness of the day.
Anyway in other news I tried Lychee this week. (I think that's how you spell it) It's freaking delicious. Super weird. Pero muy rico. I met several people who are super friendly and lovely. Still getting to know them. But I'm starting to feel loved again in my new barrio. I completed 7 months. 11 more to go! I tried on a very typical traje. I had my first consejo de distrito with my new distrito. Y to finish, I saw a rainbow.
And there you have it! My week in a nutshell. I love and miss you all dreadfully but I hope you're all doing well! Ciao mi gente! Till next time!
